What’s a Downwinder?

Waves are created by wind. And with the hyper efficient hydrofoil, you no longer need a powerful peaking wave to surf. You can ride wind waves for miles in the middle of the ocean. We call this a Downwinder because you are traveling in the direction of the wind, or downwind. And wow it is incredibly fun.

Viento Run

I like to tell people that the Columbia river is a destination for Hawaiians, and you know if Hawaiians are showing up the conditions have gotta be pretty epic. The Viento run is one of the Columbia river’s premier Downwinders.
